Pump Recommendations

Post by mattmacleod » Fri Oct 02, 2009 8:02 am

Can anyone recommend a good pump? I am planning to build a HERMS/RIMS type system so it will need to be able to move hot water and wort - up to 100C actually as I am planning to do the recirculating whirlpool chiller a la Mr Malty.

MArch May HS 809 . . . Cracking pump does what it says on the tin

Speck MY2-8000 Have a very good reputation . . . and I may be investing in one soon

I also have a couple of Stainless steel Cellar pumps like the RG550 from Hallamshire Cellar Supplies, which are great , but way over the top, and as they are not mag coupled, need serious throttling back . . . but will make a great cask washing pump

Thanks for the recommendation.

Do you know where I can buy one of the march pumps? I have contacted March May but not had a reply yet.

Speck MY2-8000. Have a look at viewtopic.php?f=22&t=26463 before sending any money to the states, it might still be a very good buy, but there also may be "issues"!
