Despite Jims clear instructions and even though Norm went to the trouble of sticking the word GAS on the gray dissconnect, I've gone and jammed Black dissconnect on the gas IN.
I can't get the damm thing off and my brews spoiling!, any sugestions please

If it went on it will come off, try to get some leverage with a pry bar or a claw hammer etc. Gentle steady pressure is best. Worst case scenario break the plastic disconnect and order a new one but that shouldn't be necessary.

I've done that before, and I did manage to get it back off but by God it took some strength.
You are more likely to damage the disconnect than the post, as it's metal against plastic with ball bearings, but at least you will get them separated, maybe using some pliers or mole grips may help, try levering it off, make sure you still pull the collar up on the disconnect as you do this.
I have, on the other hand heard of instances where the two stay together forever and end up as a curiosity on a shelf.......

Cheers guys, I was brave and armed with a toy plastic hammer tapped away at it untill it gave in! Panic over!
