I was told to post here on a different board because the software designer post here.
So my hard drive on my mac died last weekend. I hadn't backed up all of programs, just those that were most important (work, finances, etc) Beer Alchemy didn't get backed up. Does anyone know if the program saves files externally?
Did I loose close to 2 years of brewing recipes?
Also, I have my serial number are the makers of Beer Alchemy (Kent place Software) pretty good at letting you put it on a new computer?
Thanks
Hard Drive Crash and Beer Alchemy
Re: Hard Drive Crash and Beer Alchemy
It probably would've been quicker to get an answer by emailing me directly (support at kentplacesoftware.com) than by posting on bunch of forums....but anyway.
Unless you've manually backed up the data files (by exporting a BeerAlchemy archive or by backing up the ~/Library/Application Support/BeerAlchemy folder directly) then the data's gone.
The application can be installed on up to three computers at a time so so should be able to download the app and install it on a new computer. The download url is http://www.kentplacesoftware.com/downlo ... lchemy.zip

Re: Hard Drive Crash and Beer Alchemy
Thanks,
You are right it would have been better, but I wasn't thinking clearly after losing all my data.
The data is all gone, but I was able to re-instal it successfully so thank you for the link. I learned the hard way that I need to back up everything.
Thanks Again
