I had a problem with the white inlet rubber kept falling off (partially or fully) each time I use an 8g bulb on one keg. Sterilised grabbing tool came in handy when it fell into beer! So I have ordered some replacement rubbers. Just want to be sure the replacement will fix the problem as the keg is now almost empty so will next be used on a new full batch that I don't want to be messing around with.
Has anyone else been in this situation of the rubber keeps falling off so replaced it? Or could there be another problem - I tried to clean/dry the valve etc before putting the rubber back) I could test it when the keg is empty but a waste of a bulb if it is 100% to be ok.
Budget keg.
Oh one more thing. The bottom of the brass valve has a "lip" on it. I assume the rubber just sits over the lip, it doesn't look like it will squeeze enough to be retained in position by the lip????
Inlet rubber falling off - just replace it?
Re: Inlet rubber falling off - just replace it?
That is why I use S30's cos you can control the speed of the CO2, I have blown a few out of place but not completely off. Replace it and you should be OK, the rubber sleeve sits behind the lip, it does on mine anyway.techtone wrote:I had a problem with the white inlet rubber kept falling off (partially or fully) each time I use an 8g bulb on one keg. Re: Inlet rubber falling off - just replace it?
The replacements have arrived. They are black instead of white but they are loads smaller too. Original is 7mm outside diameter, replacements are 5. Spent 10 minutes trying to get one on but it will not go.
Anyone got any comments on this? Have I been sold the wrong thing. It was ebay. They look like pieces of tubing (like wire insulation) crudeley cut to about the right length but maybe that is all they are? Or any tips on how to fit?

Thanks for the reply and sorry for being thick but by "behind the lip" I am still not sure if this means "sits over the lip" or should be pushed all the way down past the lip, so the lip retains it is position????crafty john wrote:the rubber sleeve sits behind the lip, it does on mine anyway.

I don't think the white rubbers supplied on some valves, mostly those sold in Wilkos, are are good as the brown and black rubbers fitted to standard S30 valves.
