New king keg BT rough inside

Bought the above last week from H&G, was offered one I knocked back because weld between thread and top of keg was all rough and textured inside, 2nd was same so tuck that one I was thinking it may be dodgy area for bugs etc so was gonna sand it then wet and dry it to smooth? What do u think??
