Hi guys, would this http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/7-Pc-Gas-Boiler-F ... 2ea01985a0 be ok to use on the long dip tube in the corny ?

I very much doubt the rod would fit, let alone the brushes.

A .22 rifle barrel cleaning brush should be about perfect for cleaning corny dip tubes

I used to own one of those and the brush was made from bronze or something similar so wouldn't it scratch the inside of the tube ?

The smallest brush size is 15mm dia surely this would fit the corny dip tube ?

Good point. Can't you get nylon or similar ones though?

I've just checked, and a .22 rimfire round will easily slip inside a cornie dip tube, but only up to the rim.

When I was in the cadets we used to clean rifles by pulling a small piece of rag through with a cord folded in the middle. Wouldn't that do the job?

Yep, the .22 cleaning rod also fits, as does its associated wool mop and phosphor-bronze brushes. I'd be very reluctant to use the latter though...

I fear that it won't. 3/8 = 0.375" or 9.5mm whereas a 0.22" or 5.6mm bullet only just fits inside the tube.

Strip the earth wire from 1.5mm twin and earth feed it through the tube, make a 'U' in one end to grip a piece of J cloth soaked in cleaner and pull it through.

or

Get a piece of carbon fiber as to tension kites and push a bung of J cloth through.
