Can someone point me in the right direction to get a spanner for removing the star shaped doodah from the top of my corny.

Ive never come across this kind of nut before.

I just use a big adjustable spanner for all my posts including the star ones, don't have any problems.

What a closed ring one?

Ive only got a small and large adjustable wrench and you cant get in with the head being too large.

The posts on mine have a hexagonal nut at the bottom. A 22mm ring spanner fits perfectly.

Or 7/8" if like me you have Imperial ring spanners, it fits both hex & the 'star' nut.

My cornies have different sized posts so it's convenient to just use one tool. Also good for getting your gas regulator on/off, things like that.

They still look too big to me. Can you get them round the posts enough to unscrew? Might have to invest in a pair of these.

They only need about an eighth of a turn before they're loose enough to do by hand.

And yes, large adjustable spanner. You are correct that you can't get straight into the post but I just do it at an angle and manage to get enough leverage to slacken it. :)
