Element cut out

Post by Carpking » Sun Jan 03, 2010 12:42 pm

Hi.
I built my own boiler with two elements, though i only ever use one at a time. Yesterday one cut out. I switched to the other and that went after about five minutes. It did come back on later. So this led me to think my crusty elements need a good clean. Does anyone know how to clean them/what to use that wont damage them?
Cheers?

Try boiling up some citric acid (available from brewshops) it will descale the element without using chemicals 2-3 teaspoons in 3 pints of water
