Hi Guys,
As part of my upcoming RIMS build I'm looking to mount a PT 100 similar to this:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/homebrew-60mm ... 1508310%26
Into a Stainless Steel 1/2" T fitting. The plan is to connect the SS-T to my 3 part ball valve, then a 1/2" to 1/4" reducer to the horizontal side of the T, into which I mount the probe. The vertical part of the T forms the exit to the pump.
My question is should I go for a 30mm or a 60mm probe?
I want to get the temp from the right location, but obviously don't want it getting caught in the ball valve, I'll be getting everything online, so I can't measure out before I order. Anyone done this and can advise?

Re: Fitting a Thermowell inline to a SS T-fitting
afaik the tip of the probe is where the sensor is so as long as thats in the flow your fine.
using a reducing bush to fit the probe will place the probe base into the T body so a 30mm probe will be in the flow ok.
using a barrel nipple to connect the ball valve can add a bit of length
if its a lil 12v pump your planning on screwing into the T be careful tightening it up thats how i broke the thread/input manifold on my 12v pump...

The 30mm was designed for that very reason
