IIRC the Lael build had hoped for spark chip continuity but the design changed on the spark so I think a further physical wiring hack is required before things can happen, AHB is the best place to ask about such things.

I think Fil is fitting a USB port to his box to allow for a physical connection, note you will need to modify the USB B or get an angled one to work in the box as space is quite tight.

Thanks, it was the verification that was getting lost in translation.

How do you find the hop filter in use??? Good run off?

I really like it, I tend to use pellet hops and it handled 200g in my latest APA no problem. I find a good whirlpool and leaving to settle for an hour or so helps. My BM is approx 4 feet above the FV I run off into. It drains within 10 minutes this way, the first time it was more of a trickle however this was due to the BM sitting slightly uneven leading the hops and true covering more of the filter than I achieve with whirlpooling now.

Finally got the thing wired up & water tight, just doing a boiling test as we speak & touch wood everything is working correctly, a few more tests and a brew day might be in order.

Thought I would update the thread, brewday been and gone.

The Max the Malt Tube will hold is 17Kg & with a ratio of 4.41 75l of mashing liquor the system works as it should, having the extra boiler capacity means I can brew more beer.

The hoist worked well just a few mods required, the pump and coil also did the job very well.

Nice! What hop filter did you use in the end and how did it perform?

It was the cut down Italian one I mentioned, which is near enough a copy of the Lauterhex spring.

I used a pump so didn't have to rely on gravity so run off was OK. I know there has been reports of problems with the springs & admit when I used them with gravity they were slow but with a pump there isn't an issue.

No trub shot by any chance?

Did you use pellets or hops and how much?

They just seem so ideal for these type of units that I am loathed to not try one but don't want to waste the money!

No other photos, was getting late on brew day, I used 300g of flower in the recipe 80+l in the pre boil, the wort recycled/ cooled for 20mins & a final pass into the FV, nothing blocked up in this time frame.

Barneey has left the forum (and all public forums apparently). His photo account was inadvertently wiped and can't be restored unfortunately. :(
