I wanted one of them but the cost and the appeal of a build overcame the urge.

Yep I agree, I find the enjoyment of fettling brew kit just as enjoyable as brewing, still may make a 100l capacity electric brewery yet. All part of the fun.

Jut a quick question. As I have a friend making a brew stand for me, nothing as nice and shiney as that!

How do you plan on cleaning? Like, just lift the MT off and pour out?

I'm thinking with my own, 100L set-up hat I cant really do that. CIP will still leave water/chemical in the bottom of my pots as they are not bottom drain. And the mash tun when full is gonna be heavy.

We have an idea to attach a bracket to the underside of the pots and then hinge hem so they can be leant over to just past horizontal to be sprayed out and drain out.

Just wondering if anyone has any alternative ideas!

Sorry that seemed to of got carried away and strayed from the point I was making,

Great build thread!

Hi mate, I'm thinking of CIP, the last stage of that will be (for me) a star san solution. Like you I will have dead space but it's star san so it can sit in there for ever and a day.

I store my empty kegs like that and it's fine, contrary to some peoples beliefs.

But as I have but everything on quick disconnects it's all designed to strip down very quickly if I need too.

simple deadspace emptying device = a towel..

drop a towel or 2 in the pot it wil absorb the liquid in the deadspace and u can lift it out..
ist update for months n months..
Fermnting: not a lot..
Conditioning: nowt
Maturing: Challenger smash, and a kit lager
Drinking: dry one minikeg left in the store
Coming Soon Lots planned for the near future nowt for the immediate :(

Nice looking build.

Does the mash to boiler pump need to positioned lower, to help with gravity priming? Not sure if this applies to the type of pumps or system you're using.

Hi rob, the water level will be above the pump so I presumed it would prime fine. But I can drop it down 50mm no problem.

But that is a very good point, it's only up there due to the bracket being that height so I'll drop it down.

PID controller fitted into the HLT. Managed to snap my sight glass off in the process....great!

Both parts came from the scrap bin at work so that was a bonus!

I did exactly the same! I used a hexagonal screwdriver bit and pair of pliers, put the bit in the hole and just twist it back out with a bit of pressure and leverage.
