Sparklets Barrels

Post by gleaner » Tue Aug 14, 2007 8:51 am

Hi,

Sorry if this is duplicated elsewhere but searching for Sparklets on the forum gives umpteen results!

I have got 3 1970's vintage brown Sparklets pressure barrels that need fettling. Taps are standard types but caps need large 6 inch O rings which don't seem to be used anymore.

Has anyone found a non-brewing source for this size ring. One barrel came with a homemade ring made from a length of syphon tube. So they must have been pretty chunky.

Cheers, Mike Davis

Afraid the King Keg or Hambleton Bard ones would be a bit too small for you as they only have a 4" neck.
Next Up : Something for the summer

How about 6" pipe O rings?

Not sure where you would get them from as spares, but if you could find some unused drainage pipe it may just fit nicely! Quite a lot of less than ideal builders will remove the O rings to make the pipe slot together easier, so it may be you could obtain some from a building site by asking the workers :?

Or make up your own...
