This should help with the cleaning up

Post by fordpopular » Tue Feb 10, 2015 8:05 pm

I have managed to acquire a huge double sink 3 meters long for the price of helping a mate to take it out
I got it partly installed today must say it was easier to take out than put in. its an old industrial stainless sink
from an old school kitchen just needs cleaning up and painting the steel frame and plumbing in.
the deep smaller sink had a heating element at the bottom which I will replace with a new one

That's a nice price of kit and you'll love the ability to have such flexible clean up and prep space. Jealous.com

Very useful.

I recommend the powdered Barkeeper's Friend Stain Remover for SS.
Its great at cleaning up stains and the odd scuff mark. I think it has oxalic acid in its mix to help dissolve the odd rust mark.

Barkeepers freind at the ready JMC out shopping for hammerite for the frame tomorrow I have the stainless bolts to join the 2 bits together. only problem I can see is that the hole from the heating element is bigger than a standard kettle element so will need to think of a solution to that. The stainless is really thick and the bowls have welds on the outside but lovely and smooth on the inside great quality, there is a huge ball valve on the deep sink instead of a plug which weighs a ton... Happy Days, cant wait to get brewing again

It’s an old sterilising sink. Hospitals and schools use to have them all the time for cleaning cutlery etc.

I work for a company who sell catering equipment. You would be surprised on the amount of tables and sinks we take out of jobs and then scrap.

I followed this suggestion and highly recommend it.

Here's a short video of the results.
