Polsinelli Stuff

Post by jubby » Mon Dec 07, 2015 6:20 am

Anybody own one of these stainless steel fermrnters ?? I've searched posts and there seems to be some interest in them but cant find anybody who's bought one. I just need to know if they're any good. Seem a bit cheap but the postage is 45 euro
I'd like decent quality but it has to be around 75 litres and I can't find anything in the UK.

Thanks Secla. I have seen those and they would be perfect but the biggest is 50l. I have asked Brewbuilder for a quote to make a bigger one but they're so busy at the moment I don't hold out much hope.

I have the 300L one,

Pros
Perfect mirror finish inside
Lid fits and seals well
Bargain
Cons
Tap is only good for emptying not for connecting any fittings but unscrews leaving a standard BSP thread
Very thin steel that dents easily but they are pushed out just as easily this could be a pro as its very light
No bottom drain so needs lifting to fully empty (not such an issue on the 75L as the 300L)
Don't expect any enquiries sent in English to be answered and all email confirmations in Italian only

However you look at it its great for the money I believe is due to the Italian steel industry being heavily subsidised.

I ordered a bunch of stuff from polsinelli on the 4th November and still haven't received it. I couldn't find much info about the company or it's products online so spending over €2000 euros with them was a nerve racking experience! I was looking at thier site for ages toying with the idea of ordering but it wasn't until i spoke to a brewer who uses their kit and said it's good stuff that i built up the courage to place an order.

I ordered 2x 300L pots 1x400L pot, 4x 300L fermenters, 4x cooling panels, a false bottom, a custom made hop filter for the 400L pot, stands for the pots and a bunch of other fittings and bits.

Postage was €450 euros!!

I'll let you know what it's like when/if I receive it!

Sounds like quite a big order of custom stuff there, so perhaps the delay is down to manufacturing ? Have they kept you informed ?

That sounds a bit worrying. 450 euro for postage is steep. Could have flown over Ryanair picked it up & paid the excess baggage for less.

Haha yeah i was wondering if it would be cheaper to take a van over there.
It's been sent now and I've got a tracking number but its painfully slow, still in milan apparently...

My single 300l fermenter turned up just over 2 weeks from ordering no confirmation of despatch or tracking info was ever sent. I entered a UK VAT no and got the Italian VAT back a week after ordering and an email telling me that in Italian was the only info I got except the order confirmation.
