Co2 supplier Oxfordshire

Post by Ren » Fri Mar 24, 2017 3:41 pm

Went to CTC Witney today to refill co2, and unfortunately they are closed. It was so convenient as I live in Witney.
Anyone knows where I can get a 36kg tank refill around Oxford?

36kg?? if you have a couple of hours a trip down the a34 to Andover patio centre will get you 6.5kg bottles without deposit charge, i dont know about 36kg tho ? that sounds like its a big welders sized bottle and if not a typo i would pick up the phone and ask a few local garages that offer welding services where they source their bottles from. When looking for co2 originally myself in the same area i was pointed in the same direction and received friendly helpful pointers as well as offers to provide cheap refills from their big bottles if needed..

I found they do refills in oxford welding supplies, they just exchange empty for the full ones. Sorry it says 25kg on the bottle, my mistake.
As I understand you can use wleders co2 as there is no real difference in co2.

wow 25kg is still a monster (unless thats the total mas of bottle + co2), and afaik there is no difference at all between dispense co2 and welding co2 beyond the labeling and packaging.

Just came back from Oxford Welding Supplies they charge 50£ for 25kg co2 cylinder refill but CTC Witney it was 20£. Would not recommend :'(

that is taking the p*ss !! £50 for an exchange - (25kg is the total full bottle mass?? 6.5kg? is the co2 contents mass??) If however they were offering you a larger 25kg of co2 contained in a larger heavier bottle, then perhpas its a case of crossed wires??
