Just taken delivery of my new stainless steel fermenter, unfortunately due to space and budget restrictions a conical was out, thankfully Brewbuilder make these, and suberbly well made they are to. I nearly took a punt on one from a European based company as they were £50 cheaper even after postage, but after seeing one on a youtube video i realised that essentially you get what you paid for and this should last years, and it even fits in my brew fridge which no conical would ever do.

They do look good, I'd love a 70 to 80 litre one but they are 50 or 100 only

Where did the tap come from ?

Here's mine. It just fits in the fridge I use. But I think I'll sell my 50l conical and replace it with one of these. As I only brew 18 litres these days.

Does it seal airtight ? It would be good to be able to filter under pressure directly out of the fermenter to the keg rather than doing keg to keg transfers.

Interested in these, I was looking at a SS brewbucket with the racking arm also.

Whats the dead space like on the 33L ? I currently use a bucket and rack using an autosyphon but I really want a solution where I dont have to open the FV lid in stainless hence looking at the SS brew bukcet

Coffeeuk - the tap set up is a triclamp 1/2" BSP female fitting into a male/female mini ball valve and then a 90 deg male 1/2" BSP hose barb, all from brewbuilder,

https://www.brewbuilder.co.uk/1/2-bsp-9 ... -barb.html

It should be airtight, Brewbuilder claim they are and it does have a nice fat silicon seal in the lid, and they also sell triclamp fittings with cornie keg posts so what you mention should be possible.

Bigbud78 - dead space looks to be approx 2 litres on the 33l version, i'm not adverse to a little bit of tilting to get the last bit out as long as i have a nice solid yeast cake at the bottom.

Whats the quality of the weld like on the inside guys ? is it smooth i.e. food safe ?

Really wanted a conical or brew bucket but it means I would need a bigger fridge and I really don't have the room :(
