just wondering if there is any preference for contact material when sourcing connectors (probably xlr:s) for temperature probes.
silver seems most common and i understand that it is more conductive, but gold is less reactive so may be better for applications where the probe is unplugged more often?
then there's also tin?
anyone with any experience in process control know whether there's a genuine preference? i did see one thread recommending the gold plated, but nothing else on it.
prices are all fairly similar, though will add up by the time i have enough!
