7.5kw gas burner problem

Post by gobuchul » Tue Oct 17, 2017 12:17 pm

Did my first brew for 10 months yesterday.

I have a 7.5kw burner, run from a propane cylinder. It's the one from the Malt Miller.

For some reason it's not burning properly. The gas flow seems reduced and it burns with a yellow flame, not the strong blue flame it used to have.

Doesn't seem to be blocked.

Any ideas?

On the front valve connection part there is a movable metal collar. If you move this forward and backward you get a different amount of air being drawn in with the gas. Get it lit and try moving it till you get a good blue flame.

Also its worth running a wire brush over the burner holes as this can cause a yellow flame if they are blocked slightly.

did the suggestions work ?

are you using a red bottle or a blue bottle ...propane or butane.

btw....spiders like to make there home and that can slightly block the air/gas intake

Just a point to add about the air intake. As per my post above, the moving colar made my flame yellow. This happened as a few things had been piled on top of the burner when it had been stored.
