congrats on the find, sounds like a solid plan, hope you take pics of your brewday experiment.

my suggestion would be to rely on lagging and insulation to maintain the mash temp without applying any active heat, without any liquor movement and a big bag of wet grain in the pot the risk of cooking the grain base before any heat permeates to a thermometer poked in the grain may be too high??
ist update for months n months..
Fermnting: not a lot..
Conditioning: nowt
Maturing: Challenger smash, and a kit lager
Drinking: dry one minikeg left in the store
Coming Soon Lots planned for the near future nowt for the immediate :(

It seems to be quite a long way from having BM type functionality; the £27 budget would be blown out of the water were it to be converted to attain that. But it may have a lot of potential for simple infusions on a small scale. I'll be interested to see how you go on with it

Much the same as calling a Burco boiler a £100 Braumeister.
It can not hold a mash at a set temperature via the heating element, it does not have an internal grain tube and it does not have the capability of re-circulating wort through the grain bed.
It is from what I can tell an alternative to a Burco boiler, minus the tap.
