LWD vs ULWD elements.

Are the ripple elements noticeably better than the more common LWD elements?

With reference to not having to scrub clean/scrub the element afterwards.

Well I have pretty hard water that i brew with and post boil using a Mrlard 3kw element i get a light dusting of calcium deposited on the element which still needs a wipe off.. No evidence at all of scorching the wort, so imho the ULWD type isnt a necessity. But if its what you want in your brewery then perhaps its what you should fit ;)

fyi the wet yellowy brown muck covering the elements isnt calcium but residual break material, the calcium is hardly thick enough to disguise the silver SS underneath it..
ist update for months n months..
Fermnting: not a lot..
Conditioning: nowt
Maturing: Challenger smash, and a kit lager
Drinking: dry one minikeg left in the store
Coming Soon Lots planned for the near future nowt for the immediate :(

Thanks Fil

I ordered the ripple, it wasn't that much more.
