I notice from their website that the SS Brewtech InfuSsion Mash Tun advertises a 5 degree sloped floor.
First of all I am guessing that this is a conical slope towards the centre drain?
I am intrigued to understand what benefit this adds, is it simply to reduce dead space?

Re: SS Brewtech InfuSsion Mash Tun
a 1-2mm lip on a drain fitting can retain a significant volume of liquid if foolish enough to fit a centre drain in the base, simply positioning the drain at the front edge reduces costs and allows a simply tip n wedge (or modded cask tilter) to reduce deadspace to a few cc..
imho a nominal conical bottom is an over engineered solution to a problem that does not exist

Re: SS Brewtech InfuSsion Mash Tun
I've got one, and yes, it's just a conical slope towards a centre drain. No dead space. But as Fil mentions, it's not a significant problem with other designs.
