Chiller problem

Post by Goosey » Sat Jan 14, 2023 5:14 pm

I've got a small chiller/cooler much like a Maxi 310 but for two products. It's been working fine since I bought it (off of someone on here in fact) but now it just will not start up. There's power to the recirculation pump, but the compressor etc is doing nothing. Is there anything obvious I could look for? The fan is not spinning, there's no 'hum', nothing.
Thanks in advance.

could be multiple things from a temperature sensor borked , a thermal cut-out on the compressor motor, depending on the type of motor the start/run capacitor or even the motor itself ,a model number and maybe a piccy of the guts might help

Is there power getting to the compressor?

Trace it back, look for fuses/trips or cutouts.

There is normally a box on the side... In that there might be a a resettable switch. Try that.

Here are some pics of the guts of it. I don't know how useful they are of course...

The circuit diagram is printed onto the lid, but I don't really understand them :(

Are you planning to fix this yourself?

Well, if all else fails, read the instructions.

Circuit diagram and other details can be found at
not sure thats for the same model as here
The circuit diagram is printed onto the lid,
nope, thats just a layout, its not showing how everything's knitted together. My first step would be to test the voltage at the compressor connector,if there is its pointing to the motor,if not its pointing to the temperature module

Did you confirm that power getting to the compressor?

Is there a box on the side of the compressor?

I can't get to look at it for at least a couple of days. I'll report back when I have. Thanks for your suggestions all of you.
