New container

Post by Rookie » Sat Sep 30, 2023 2:42 pm

My local homebrew club is making a grain purchase on Monday and I got this yesterday. Most of my bag of Crisp maris otter will fit in it.

Looks nice. Do you get your grain much cheaper with a bulk buy?

Oh absolutely yes. I am still less than £1/kg.

That vault looks expensive rookie?

Hells teeth, £90 that's a lot of beer. Sorry Jim I perhaps missed your point.

I think many of us do the same!
I have an old plastic dustbin which stores the sack(s) of base malts once opened (& part used) and a plastic box with a clip on lid which stores the miscellaneous bags and part bags of other malts.
Reminder to self: get some beers made as there's rather a lot of malt, hops and yeast in stock at the minute!
Fermenting: nowt
Conditioning: English IPA/Bretted English IPA
Drinking: Sunshine Marmalade, Festbier, Helles Bock, Smokey lagery beer, Irish Export StoutCascade APA (homegrown hops), Orval clone, Impy stout, Duvel clone, Conestoga (American Barley wine)
Planning: Dark Mild, Kozel dark (ish), Simmonds Bitter, Bitter, Citra PA and more!

60 ltr bucket for £25. I made my boiler from one of these, about £20 15 years ago ISTR.

More like it @LeeH & @MashBag?

Nah. Not even that.

I measure mine out into 4kg tubs. Airtight and I think it helps avoid settling in the (open) sack.
