Help! - Swan tea urn - new element?
Hi
A while ago I bought and subsequently broke a 6 gallon Swan tea urn. It had a 3000W plate type element which I've never been able to find a replacement for. Consequently I have a 6 gallon stainless tank with a huge hole in the bottom. I don't want to throw it away as it is otherwise in perfect condition (and I have an immersion chiller that I made to fit.) Does anyone have any idea where I can find a new element. I've tried a couple of online places with huge stocks of replacement electrical parts and they didn't have them.
Cheers
Mike

Have a disc of Stainless cut to fit just inside the diameter of the urn. Then use JB weld to 'glue' it to the bottom. JB Weld is food safe, and heat resistant to 300C. I've used it in my FV and its going to repair a cracked weld in my HLT.. Its liquid enough to be carefully run round the internal edge to form a fillet removing questions about sanitary effect . . . . if Boiling wort isn't sanitary enough
You can then fit a burco element or two.
