Peracetic acid

Post by Garth » Tue May 12, 2009 8:23 pm

I know a few of you use it, so what dilution do you use?

from information sheets I have gleaned it's roughly 1% percetic mixed in 99% water, so 1 litre of water needs 10ml of peracetic, is this correct?

That's correct - assuming it's 5% peracetic (it usually is but I've got some 15% and you can get higher).

Wear gloves when measuring it out. The neat stuff burns like a bastard.

Cheers Steve, I thought I'd seen you mentioning that you use it..

and excellent, I got the dilution correct, yes it is the 5% stuff

I know how naughty it can be neat, I use it everyday at work but was just curious what dilution others were using for a no rinser.
