We've all come across those bottles with foil/plastic labels which leave that nasty sticky residue which is a nightmare to try and clean off. Whilst rummaging around the garage looking for something to help clean this off I discovered an old can of Carb Cleaner. It worked so well that I decided to do a little how to:
Before I start, carb cleaner is hugely toxic and harmful so please don't do this inside! I cleaned the bottle in the pics in a well ventilated garage and still regretted not being outside!!
You'll need:
An old rag
Can of Carb Cleaner (£4 from any motor factors)
A crown cap
A sticky bottle
• Cap the empty bottle! You really don't want to risk getting carb cleaner inside the bottle as I'm sure it'll do a lot of damage to your insides!
• Spray the sticky area with carb cleaner
• Allow to soak in for 30 seconds or so.
• Rub with the old rag until all residue is gone
• Repeat if required
• Remove the cap and wash the bottle in really hot soapy water
HEY PRESTO!!
How to get the sticky stuff off bottles

Nice tip Dave!
I will move this to the stickies once people have had a chance to see it here.
