PBW Group Buy?
I like PBW as a cleaner. It's the best cleaner I've used - random oxy stuff or percarbonate is cheaper, but PBW just works better, and with cleaning being the ballache part of brewing, anything to make that less painful is worth it to me. I use about 100g per brew (dosage is 7.5g per litre of hot water). For those of you that have large systems that you want to CIP it's the best stuff you can get.
Anyway, I was looking at a great big 22.5kg container of PBW, and realised that it's priced at about £7.50 per kg rather than the usual £12.50-15 per kg for the next largest tubs you can buy.
So would anyone like to join a group buy of one of those containers? I'd organise, ideally splitting it 5 ways, which would make it £34 plus £6 postage for 4.5kg, or you can collect from Surrey/London and save the postage.
If people want more/less than 4.5kg then I'm also willing to work something out.

If we can get another couple of people in for 4.5kg I will make this happen.

Myself and Demig will take a 4.5kg split between us and may be able to pick it up as well.
Seems like you only need one more person/group too get things moving

Is it worth cross posting this to the for sale or bargain basement sub forum?

f00b4r: I'm in NE20 [up until 6 months ago, I was in NE3 too]
4.5kgs is a lot considering i've got a 450g tub at the minute! Good price though.
Couple of questions, does this stuff have a shelf life? I can't see a date on my little tub, thought someone might know.
Will the 4.5kg come in a bag or some kind of sealed tub for storage?
I'm certainly interested, dunno if 4.5kgs is overkill for my usage though.

Re: PBW Group Buy?
If kept dry it should last for ages probably why it has no date on the tub. If this gets off the ground I was planning to ask Jocky if I can pick this up as I travel around so easy for me. I'm in Morpeth so could pick yours up and drop it off for you saving on the postage, NE20 is around Ponteland I think ?
Re: PBW Group Buy?
It's Jocky prepared to organise it and he may be able to answer those questions on packaging but Demig may have just made it that bit cheaper for you as well

Yeah, i'm over in Ponteland, lived over at the top of Kenton [Kenton Lane] before - a drop off would be fantastic!
I can't think of a reason to say no considering the price! It'd probably be a lifetime supply!
If Jockey could confirm if it'd be in a container or a bag that would be great.

Drop off is no problem if this happens

Re: PBW Group Buy?
I use about 70g per brew and a bit in between, so 4.5kg will last a good while...
I was planning to supply in sealed up bags, and you'll need to find your own storage container. Keep it dry and this stuff will last a long time - 3 years at least, probably more like 10!
The problem I have is that since posting this thread back in October I had to repurchase a large tub of PBW and so I probably don't need any myself for at least 18 months.
