Who knows about aircon units?
Who knows about aircon units?
I want to make and keep a room at a constant all year round temperature of 20 degreesC. Is this possible with an ordinary air-con unit? The room will be properly insulated and situated. I live in SW France so heating it is not a problem, it's cooling it. It gets cold in the winter obviously, but not for very long.
Re: Who knows about aircon units?
With a suitably sized reversible unit you can do it. The unit will heat it in winter and cool it in summer. Remember however that the DIY stores such as Leroy Merlin, Bricodepot etc will only sell you the unit if you pay to have it installed by a professional.Goosey wrote:I want to make and keep a room at a constant all year round temperature of 20 degreesC. Re: Who knows about aircon units?
Really? I didn't know that, I was hoping I could do it myself. If it will work though....
Re: Who knows about aircon units?
Do aircon units not tend to harbour bacteria etc? I like your style but wonder if it might be easier just to have some large fridges that you can install stc1000 controllers and heaters in to? This will give you smaller highly controllable temperature zones for all aspects of brewing.

I don't but your post reminded me about Jamil Zainasheff talking about his brew shed in California where he put an airconditioner into the wall

seemed to work for him
