New water treatment calculator

(That's water to the rest of us!) Beer is about 95% water, so if you want to discuss water treatment, filtering etc this is the place to do it!

Sorry for posting without thinking first
I believe for CO3 we divide HCO3 by 2.02 and for CaCO3 we divide by 1,22 am I right ? Are these always remain the same ?
I found the answer to the above question for anyone needs to calclulate Alakalinity here are some very usefull posts.

Graham, in anticipation of the FAQ refering to your calculator, i wonder if this would be an ideal oppertunity for you to compliment this all singing all dancing version with a simpler version that simply hides many of the confusing(to newbies (& me :oops: )) sections. Id sugest keeping its main functionality but removing certain areas not used by newbies but you have included for completness?

Some thing like this-

I just think it would be a lot less scary without those areas i have banked out. I still think its worth while keeping the original though- for advanced users :=P

Cheers :=P

Steve

Ps many thanks for your continuing support of this forum, I'm sure i speak for us all! =D>

Steve, I've got an Excel Spreadsheet that does pretty much what you say . . . apart from storing water profiles as they are completely superfluous when you are treating water. ( :D ) . .. I just put my profile in and then adjust the quantities of salts to get the output profile I want. i.e higher calcium and then more sulphate / chloride depending on where I want the beers balancing to be.

I am pretty sure that it is one of the mandatory disclosures, so it should be there. If you cannot find it, I suppose you have to assume that you haven't got any.

So I've got my Salifert kit. Then I measure my alkalinity, stick that value plus the values from my local water report into Graham's excellent calculator, and Bob's my uncle?

It will be back :) We moved hosting server on Sunday night and it looks like some of the calculators didn't make it to their new home :)

The beer engine download leads directly to a page on Graham's website.

This is the link.
