what have I done?

(That's water to the rest of us!) Beer is about 95% water, so if you want to discuss water treatment, filtering etc this is the place to do it!

ive just got a bit carried away adjusting my mash ph and dropped 100gms of gypsum in my 5 gallon mash. the ph is fine but have i knackered my brew?

My opinion is bin it.

You'll have over 3000ppm of sulphate, over 1200ppm of Calcium and over 2000ppm of hardness.

Burton has about 600ppm sulphate and that is unusually high. Even if it doesn't taste bad it will probs give you the runs.

I think that the resultant beer may taste a little harsh :(
But on the positive side it's never gonna lose a fight it'll be well hard :roll:

the new mash is in , ive not messed with the ph again. Ive learnt my lesson there :lol:
