top up liquor

(That's water to the rest of us!) Beer is about 95% water, so if you want to discuss water treatment, filtering etc this is the place to do it!

top up liquor

I do 38 litre batches with concentrated wort ending up about 22 litres, the remaining volume is topped up with cold water. At present I simply take cold tap water and treat it with campden to knock out chlorine. I was wondering whether this top up water should be pre-boiled. A couple of articles I have recently read by professional brewers suggest this should be done. Any views? Thank you.

I boil bu that is only because my tap water is spring fed. I have had the water tested but I like to know I am not adding any bacteria to my wort.
