ok so am i suppose to this bofore adding tap water to my beer/wine before fermentation?

I havent currently and I have had no problems but if it will improve results then I will.

Im relatively new at this.

Water companys add different amounts of chemicals at different times, if you haven't noticed a problem ie a TCP/Medicinal flavour in your beer you may not need to treat your water although it wont hurt.
thanks for the info DaaB its much appreciated. I'll try one treated and untreated next time with the same kits to see if there is a difference.
