Alkalinity?

(That's water to the rest of us!) Beer is about 95% water, so if you want to discuss water treatment, filtering etc this is the place to do it!

Alkalinity?

Post by shepp » Fri Dec 30, 2016 12:39 am

Can somebody please help.
I have taken a reading using my Salifert test kit and it comes to 195 mg/l.
When I put this into Graham Wheelers Liquor Treatment Calculator, is this reading expressed in CaCO3 or HCO3 or CO3 ?

I am guessing the first one but I would like to confirm it.

Many thanks

Take the meq/l reading from the enclosed chart and times by 50. That's the result as ppm CaC03, which you can enter on the calculator.
