first time water treatment - hand-holding please!

(That's water to the rest of us!) Beer is about 95% water, so if you want to discuss water treatment, filtering etc this is the place to do it!

I had to write it out to understand it fully, but crystal clear now. Thanks for the great write up Eric. Has been 25 years since i looked at these weights and ions, so a bit rusty, but its all coming back now! Cheers again for taking the time to give a step by step explanation. Very handy and timely since i will be Brewing a bitter tmrw, will report back hopefully with some good results🍺

As you used the terms anions/cations...........
Only just caught up again with this thread so just to add my thanks to Eric for his blinding explanation. I'm on my 5th 'treated' brew and, although I've read and re-read loads of background thinking on this subject, was still simply accepting parrot fashion what the calculator tells me to do in terms of treatments.

Admittedly, I've had to read Erics post about 3 times but I do now feel I've a better understanding of what I'm doing and why.

So =D> to that man!
