Fg high should I bottle
Fg high should I bottle
Well guys did a better brew Czech pilsner 13 days ago although the instructions said bottle when fg reaches 1008 and don't leave more than ten days in fv the reading has been steady for three days at 1012 and its been 13 days. The temp has been19-21 therefore should I bottle even though its 1012 or leave longer to see if fg gets any lower
Re: Fg high should I bottle
I'd rouse it gently, leave it a couple more days and if nothing has changed bottle it.
Happy brewing,
Ian.

Hello Newbrew1
Hope you cleaned everything this time! Clean, Clean, Clean, Rinse, Rinse, Rinse! You`ve seen my Front room and now there is a cat and Five Kittens in there and I am still making GOOD BEER in there! They used to make BEER in the caves under the Pub `The Olde Trip to Jerusalem` in Nottingham from 1189AD so it can`t be that hard.
Just drunk 2 pints of Wherry with Styrian and 2 pints of Wherry with Crystal, Bloody Lovely mun, now is the ultimate taste test, A PINT OR TWO OF `DITCH`S STOUT 3 GALL` Here we F£kincg Go! Hoppy Days!

Did you make the kit up with the recommended fermentables and brewlength, as this will affect the FG?Newbrew1 wrote:Well guys did a better brew Czech pilsner 13 days ago although the instructions said bottle when fg reaches 1008 and don't leave more than ten days in fv the reading has been steady for three days at 1012 and its been 13 days. Definitely sounds like it's finished fermenting then, so bottle away.Newbrew1 wrote:Yes made it up it said on back of pack, just sampled it again and it's still 1012 it's now been fifteen days and its been at 1012 for the last five days
Certainly doesn't sound stuck. The stated figure of 1.008 is probably based on optimum manufacturing and fermentation conditions, including healthy yeast.
