Butty Bach
Butty Bach
Has anyone got a recipe for butty bach by wye valley brewery , if not does anyone know which yeast they use
Re: Butty Bach
I don't have a recipe, but from their website-
"We brew it using Maris Otter and Crystal malts, flaked barley, malted wheat, and locally grown Fuggles, Goldings and Bramling Cross hops. With such fine ingredients, no wonder it remains a firm favourite among our followers. 4.5% ABV."
I seem to recall that the label states it's bottle conditioned with their own yeast, so there's a fair chance it's the primary strain.

Re: Butty Bach
The beer is in the corny now copied Norms recipe but reduced ebu to 38 which has given it a slightly sweet
taste at the moment (finished at 1.011).I would def do this recipe again

Re: Butty Bach
Glad I found this thread - Butty Bach is one of my favourite beers and Wye Valley my local-ish brewery
I've cultivated their yeast before, managed it from a single bottle, gradually stepping it up. I've also had a shot at Butty, unfortunately the recipe (my own approximation) is on my other PC which is currently down, I'll see how it compares when I get it back up and running.
