Junga!

Post by Troutman47 » Sat Apr 08, 2017 11:17 am

Anyone used these hops?

I want to use them in a single hop golden ale style beer

Pale Ale Malt 4.700kg
Carapils 235g

Junga 11.2%
31g @ 60mins
13g @ 15mins
15g @ Flame out
51g dry hop for 4 days

Thoughts please!

I've not used it but is supposed to be like galena which is my favorite bittering hop but it doesn't keep much of its pungent aroma...I wish it did.... A smash brew would be the way I'd go.

Yes, I've used them and liked them. A newer Polish high-alpha variety, good aromas and flavours overall, not very dominant, but I pickup some of the minty, earthy, licoricey, cedary hops notes of Northern Brewer and Marynka from which Junga is descended. Good stuff, but I'd love to hear what you think of them too.
