Topping Up Fermenter

Post by shepp » Sun Jul 30, 2017 4:51 pm

I'm just boiling a Oktoberfest right now and I think it may be a little short.
Is it alright to top up the fermenter with a bottle of unboiled Ashbeck spring water?
Cheers

Not to be recommended unless your OG was higher than required. And even then I always add my liquoring back to the cooling wort in the copper. If you are under volume it is better to just live with it.

If its under volume and you think it will make it over on the OG then I don't see the problem. You can always wait until its cooled and check the gravity then decide.
