Buffalo 40L manual fill alternative element
Buffalo 40L manual fill alternative element
I have a 40L buffalo, the element has pretty much failed.
Has anyone retrofitted an alternative brand of element to "replace" the buffalo version.
I'm thinking it should be ok, the alternatives generally appear to have 6 securing screws, the old buffalo has 8, the silicone seal should hopefully block out the redundant holes.
Don't know if there's any implications with the thermostats etc. as long as I stick around the original 2600W
Anyone any experience or helpful advice

Re: Buffalo 40L manual fill alternative element
Can’t advise on the exact question, but I stuck a kettle element on the side for shortening heating durations, also as a backup. Last brew day the buffalos normal element popped it thermal fuse so that second element saved the day and was good enough to heat mash and boil by itself. I think I’ve got the 2.4 version from brewbuilder. Hope that helps interested to hear if here’s a bottom element replacement possible for when it inevitably dies on mine too

thanks for the reply sub.
I want to replace the existing element, I dont want to add a secondary heater.
My searches for a replacement aren't bearing any success, so i'm considering trying the alternative element, similarly sized but has 6 securing screws instead of the current 6.
