Great British Beer Festival 2008

Post by anomalous_result » Fri Mar 28, 2008 1:32 pm

750 beers, 5 days. Earls Court, London. 5th - 9th August.

So it may be early but I'm already planning my trip. As the website says "Imagine a pub the size of an aircraft hangar; that serves every type of beer you can think of, and even some you probably won't have."

Tickets are on sale now here.

I've not missed it in 10 years! I did however prefer Olympia over Earls Court as a venue. I also only buy a ticket at the door as there's never a problem and you dont really have to queue. I'm considering taking the day off work and going up on the Friday as the beer choice is naff by early Saturday afternoon - being the last day.

I'll be going along 8), it seems to be getting more and more 'corporate' these days but there's still lots of great stuff to seek out there.

If you do this one plus a few other camra festivals in a year then its worth getting membership as the membership discount for GBBF makes it worth it!

Was also thinking of going in the week but now I hear a key member of my group has gone and got a bloody job! Will no doubt have persuaded him to pull a sicky by then. Final exams to look forward to before then though. :?

Pulling a full-pay sicky is one of the most fundamental work skills you can possibly hope to learn. It certainly helps with brew days and week day festivals!
