Flemish Ale Pierre Rajotte Recipe

Post by Roger » Thu Jun 26, 2008 4:22 pm

I'm planning on brewing this on Saturday, or more accurately my version.
It is from the Pierre Rajotte book in the Classic Beer Styles Series; "Belgian Ale"

Book Recipe

Crystal malt 57g
Pale Malt Extract 2.7kg
Saaz (Bittering) 30g
Goldings (Aroma) 15g

OG 1.048

What I've got;

Crystal malt 57g
Two 1.5Kg tins Brupaks Pale malt Extract 3kg
Saaz 30g
Goldings one packet Morgan's finishing hops. 12g in an "infusion bag".
Sachet Brupaks Ale yeast.

Anyone tried this one before? How's the recipe look?

I've never tried the Morgans sachets of hop pellets before but thought it might be a good way to go with only requiring a small amount. 12g is near enough 15, isn't it?

Can't wait 'til saturday :D

Pierre Rajotte is the author DaaB

Good luck with it, i tried the tripel from his book... pretty good although it could have done with more sugar.

He could be very soon :D

I've just pitched the yeast and downloaded the photo's. Once I've edited out the rubbish ones I'll start a thread in "Brewdays".

Pretty good and only managed to burn myself once, only a little bit too

Details soon. Cheers fella's.
