ATC800 Freezer - Done!

Post by macleanb » Sun Jun 29, 2008 6:59 am

Hi Guys

Myself & Iank had a day of fiddling yesterday. I picked him up at 1:30 and after a round trip to Homebase we came back to mine for an afternoons beer equipment fiddling. We made both a wort chiller and put an ATC800 on an old freezer. Time was tight, but we finished of just after 6.

Havent actually got a photo of the finished freezer on here yet, and no comments - I'll do these later (I'm about to cycle to Chelmsford!) but here's the album so far:

The only fly in the ointment was I forgot that double sockets have a "common rail" so cannot be used to control two circuits  , but will upgrade this shortly - and in summer I dont think I am going to need te heat side anyway....

p.s. Thanks Ian!

Yes, very satisfactory afternoon.
The freezer will have a good scrub before it's used

Looking good guys . . . . Did you nor think about fitting it where the original fridge controller is? That way you don't need a box . . .all the wires are neatly out of the way, you don't need sockets to plug into as you can wire the appliance directly . . .

Just an  Thought

Oh Yeah and that means you can put things on the lid as well ;)

:D

Thats a good idea/point Aleman, just keep it to yourself next time

I dont think I fancy hacking it into the steel plate, and working in the rather enclosed/sensitive innards - but I could have stuck the box down there....

You could take the lid off make a wooden collar then attach the lid to the wooden collar then you can safely drill holes & attach beer taps beer engines ect.

One step at a time! If Mrs McBwn delivers for her man on my birthday this week, something like this may take place (on a far less grand scale) Thats quite a setup you have there
