Good plan Daab, I have some of these muslin bags from when I used to put the hops in them & I have the same bits problem as yourself clogging up my Plate HE - Great idea.

I'm not sure if it was cooling my wort in the boiler so that I got a lot of finer cold break material or that I didn't have a sufficient number of hops for an effective filter bed, but I got a lot of trub transferred to the FV in my latest brew. I'm thinking I should make one of these too. :wink:

Just be careful with socks and clogging - bet the Dutch guys do it all the time though :wall

When my chiller pre-filter gets clogged the pump can't empty the copper :oops:
and it needs gloves to open the filter cause it's so bleedin' hot!
