Re: KEG KINGDOM

There was a thread on the home brew forum about him and he said he'd been off sick and he back now and promised better service. This was in November guessing he's still as bad.

Re: Malt Miller's MP-15RM pump for boiling wort?

Some sort of thumb screw would work rather than a cross head.

Re: Malt Miller's MP-15RM pump for boiling wort?

Yes I have one but mine came from alipress for around 30 quid. So far working great I use it with my CFC my biggest bug bear is the screws to clean the head and the short lead

Re: Counterflow build

It's something I considered but the grainfather CFC doesn't and the person that got the idea from built two one with and one without and didn't notice much. I think it's more about controling your coolant flow. Plus I'd of had to buy a blow torch solder and copper wire adding more cost so just went ...

Re: Counterflow build

Hi, Looking to have a go at this before my next brew day and checking a few details. Is there a particular reason for s/s tee and tails rather than copper / brass? Also if you could give some pointers on the actual hose you used or something similar and the cheapest or best source for the bits that...

Re: Whirlpool arm - how to use

The main reason for connecting up the cfc is to sanitise it and said the main reason for disconnection is purely to give the pump alittle more umph.

Cheers for the advice big bud will deffo give it a whirl

Re: Whirlpool arm - how to use

powellbrewing.co.uk/product/stainless-steel-hop This is my fIlter . So my feelings are is chuck the hops in normally, sanitise the CFC then disconnect and just run the pump just to keep things moving in the kettle. Then at flame out let a trub cone form then reconnect up the cfc, this is to give it ...

Whirlpool arm - how to use

I'm planning to fit a Powell stainless whirlpool arm, basically it's a long dip tube with a squeezed end and a bulk head fitting. I'm just wondering how best to use it, I currently have to put my pellets in a nylon bag, flowers are ok in loose. Recently I've had success in just launching 10-20g pell...

Re: Something like an APA

In theory the CFC doesn't get dirty again during storage, so it just needs disinfecting on brew day (in my case using boiling wort during the boil). In practice I can't fully dry the CFC after use, so potentially something could grow in the moisture during storage. But if so then it seems to be not...

Re: Something like an APA

Thanks both, it was quite a fun day. I had a few months without brewing and its good to get back into it. ..can't remember if I asked can you describe how you clean the cfc After the kettle is emptied, I put a bit of PBW-like cleaner in the bottom to recirculate (heated) through the CFC for 20mins,...
