Re: Torbay area breweries

Not been there for a few years. I used to overnight there travelling for work. At the time the hole in the wall was OK, as was the Devon Arms. Two spoons, The Green Ginger was a bit grim. The London Road was ok for spoons. But as I say this is all a bit dated.

Re: Temporary hose and tap ...

I have blue water main pipe buried underground. The brewshed end terminates in a tap with a hose connector. This enables me to fit a hose for rinsing things out on the deck or a short hose to fill the BM or connect the immersion chiller. The other end comes out of the ground about 6 inches. I connec...

Mangrove Jack's M84

I usually brew bitters, pale ales and stouts. Brewing a bit of a user upper pilsner today 100% pilsner malt. Using a sachet of the above yeast. Will ferment at 12-13 degrees. Does anybody with experience of this yeast know how long it will take to ferment out?

Cheers

Hops any good? Do you know postage costs (thinking about 500g)
I've bought from them in the past, excellent hops and service.

I've used old frozen hops for bittering at an increased level with no problems.

Years ago I bought a Blichmann bottle filler. It cost a fortune and was/ is completely useless.
I use one of these for beer and wine. An excellent piece of kit.

Mine is very similar. The gap under the hood is essential to provide airflow. It just won't work without it.

Re: Micropubs in Thanet. Worth a visit?

I'm in Kent but not to close to Thanet, well not without a nightmare bus journey but all the Thanet micropubs have a good reputation. Some reviews can be found here; https://pubsandbeer.co.uk/ Thanet is only a short distance from the original micro, The Butcher's Arms in Herne which was my local for...
