Re: Suggestions for a beer to complement Indian food
Well looks like the experiment is over unfortunately - they have started selling alcohol again (weaved through the reasons is some quite interesting psychology) so tonight I had two particularly terrible draught Cobras! I would like to try the "Ultimate Curry Beer", but information on it seems a lit...

Ha ha, that could be about as much fun as it is trying to make people jump by not being subtle with the swing-tops!contadino wrote:If you decide to take a keg next time you're visiting your local Indian, could you get a photo of the expressions when you walk in with it?

Re: Suggestions for a beer to complement Indian food
Since it doesn't look like he has visited for three years and so there is little point in dropping him a thank you PM - for the record I would just like to say that Wild and Windy's Indian lager recipe really is excellent! My fourth all grain brew and by far the best yet, even had someone say they w...

Re: My first AG brewday... at long last!
There are loads of brew fridge ideas and discussions on here and beyond, most of my inspiration came from this one as mine is a tall larder fridge. I have also gone with the 60W tube heater and the ATC800+ but found that I had to use a fan to circulate the air - mostly to stop the heater thermostat ...

Re: My first AG brewday... at long last!
Its been a bit cold in the house and so my fermentation has gone very slow (I've now finished my fermentation fridge, but didnt want to disturb the brew too much by moving it to the garage), so I will be kegging it today as soon as I get around to it... I was very much considering dry hopping as per...

Re: My first AG brewday... at long last!
Funny, I brewed that same recipe (My AG3) that same week (the 8th). It's now been two weeks and has finally hit my expected final gravity, seems to be tasting pretty good too - will be kegging this weekend - hopefully should be a good one!

Re: Suggestions for a beer to complement Indian food
Excellent, a total clash of opinions, glad to get a few varied suggestions - from light and cold to dark and malty! Possibly the answer lies somewhere in between with a dark larger like you might find at a Mexican restaurant - Like a Negra Modelo or some such. My thinking at the moment is something ...

Suggestions for a beer to complement Indian food
Evening all! Our local Indian as of last week went BYOB... now usually I love a Cobra with my meal and I am poised to try Wild and Windy's recipe as soon as SWMBO allows (probably a psychological limit more than a physical one) Note that this will be my first Lager - I was just wondering what else p...

Re: EBU for multihop brews
Thanks Froggit, I have downloaded Beersmith as it was the program used to derive the recipe - though not sure if its not just given me more numbers (and a lot lot more!) to play with! In answer to my question, it looks to be that when using more than one hop, the total EBU is the sum of all of the E...

EBU for multihop brews
Good evening, As this is my first post I will just briefly make my excuses - I had a brief foray into kit brewing a couple of years ago, then on discovering Elder flowers in the garden this spring a bit of wine making has re-sparked my interest, resulting in a current stock of 5 gallons of wine of 3...
