Re: Help - plug issues 20l braumeister
A domestic ring main is rated at 30A, so I suspect your issue is low grade wall sockets or as above connectivity issues. If you stick to Crabtree or MK, you want go far wrong. I had similar issues with my washing machine in my laundry, this was found to be 'cheap' socket and what I believe was exces...

Re: 20 Litre Braumeister Max Grain
That looks interesting. Is it compatible with the hood in situ? Yes, the picture is slightly distorted, with respect to the Braumeister is the 50l version and the malt tube is the smaller 25l, half height tube, therefore what you're looking at is the spacer to keep the whole thing in place. On the ...

Re: 20 Litre Braumeister Max Grain
This kit is designed to get the max grain bill out of either the 20L or 50L versions http://www.bacbrewing.com/epages/990497525.sf/en_GB/?ObjectPath=/Shops/990497525/Products/BB.BM20.003 . You can either use it with the top filter in place and turned upside down or remove it completely, as with the ...

Re: Yeast slant swap
If you believe what's written, then WLP002 is Fullers yeast. Plus please shoot me down but it's the same yeast they use for London Pride and ESB etc.

eBay, here's the item number 291566158360 (just copy the number into the eBay search bar). It's a 135 degree 102mm alloy hose.

Re: Condensation management systems...
Check out the automotive industry as they have an excellent array of silicone / alloy pipes that can be made to work. This is an aluminium air induction pipe for a performance car and at around £15 delivered, not that expensive, in the global scene of things. http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g288/W...

Re: BM and efficiency
So managed to get another brew under my belt, with some of my new additions and other than cocking up some of my measurements (my cock-up), everything worked well. Here is the new higher yield kit, which to be honest, I was more interested in upping my efficiency and not losing any grain out of the ...

Re: Stainless Steel Element
I use These Not sure if they are stainless but they work very well. Before my Braumeister, I used a 70L stock pot with two of these fitted from this place. The plastic 'shroud' is the only weak link, so get a stainless shroud from Brew Builder or Angel. A quick 'oxi' clean after use and they come u...

Re: BM and efficiency
Agreed. This 'kit' is indeed designed to get more grain into the malt tube, by basically making more space. So my logic is, my liquid to malt ratio isn't going to change BUT if I can give the grain more 'room' to move within the malt tube, then I can potentially reduce channelling and potentially an...

Re: BM and efficiency
I've just bought one of these to compliment the two screens I bought pre Christmas. http://www.bacbrewing.com/epages/990497525.sf/en_GB/?ObjectPath=/Shops/990497525/Products/BB.BM50.003 Logic does suggest it should make some difference. I only tend to brew 25L batches with my 50L version for the tim...

Re: commando sockets – Fuse ?
il certsinly wouldnt put 30A down a bit of 2.5mm artic, 4 mm at least. I wasn't suggesting you put 32A down the 2.5mm artic? If it's taken from my posting, you'll see that I was suggesting you use 2.5mm cable to take a 2400W load ie circa 10.5A load. Or potentially you can move up to a 3000W load u...

Re: commando sockets – Fuse ?
The example of the immersion heater was to give a parallel between our brewing requirements and those of a domestic water heating installation ie if you follow the same principles then you won't have a problem. So let's break this down. You already have a 32A supply from your distribution board, so ...

Re: commando sockets – Fuse ?
Orlando, Lets break this down. So a 2400W element (assuming it is 2400W and no say 2450W, 2500W etc), then at 230V AC, you're looking at a current draw of 10.5A, a domestic 3 pin plug is capable of delivering 13A, so alls good? Well you'd think so but your average kettle takes say 5 minutes to boil,...

Re: commando sockets – Fuse ?
As I understand it, a fuse is there to protect something, be it a device or be it a cable. Any fuse will blow at a set current and or for thermal fuses at a set temparature rating. In DC circuits, you can have milli amp quick blow fuses, to protect sensitive electronic circuits. Agreed that in most ...
