Braumeister feet protection strips
Hi,
Does anyone have good alternatives to the BM feet protector strips? My 50L ones need replacing and wondered if there are other options to the spare ones that Speidel sell.
Thanks

Calcium Hydroxide (Slaked Lime) Expiry/Shelf life?
Hi, I have some food grade calcium hydroxide and I'm wondering if it needs throwing away. When I bought this, about 6 or so years ago, the BBE was only for 6 months. I used it once and then never again, leaving it in my shed. Does this need throwing now or is it ok to use still? I want to try using ...

Re: Brite tank carbonation
Probably not, but will probably chill it at the very least.
Will it be over carbed at my serving temperature?
Thanks

Re: Brite tank carbonation
Hi, I thought the colder the better when carbonating, using less CO2? Is this incorrect?

Brite tank carbonation
I have a SS Brewtech brite tank that I always struggle with carbonation levels. I have a beer sat in at the moment, at 3.5C. I want about 2.3 volumes of CO2 so using the carbonation stone fed in CO2 until I reached about 9psi, doing this slowly over 2 days. I achieved 9psi on 10/5. Today I have chec...

Using a mixed gas to dispense
Hi all, I have a Brown Porter that I want to serve using a 70/30 mixed gas (N2/C02). I have the gas, new regulator and serving tap but I don't know what I should do. Do I carbonate as normal then serve using the mixed gas, but serve at a much higher pressure (say 30psi). What is the general advice? ...

Re: Braumeister or Brewtools??
Hi MashBag,
Thanks for your PM. I have asked the seller on the BM forum for more information - still waiting.
I have a 20L model at the moment and wanted to do bigger volumes. 20L just isnt enough for the work involved.
Cheers

Yeast Cropping Advice
Some advice on a yeast crop I have just collected please. I have just tool some yeast from the top of a beer which was practically finished. Its White Labs WLP013 London yeast and I harvested so late as I was waiting for a suitable container to turn up as all my others were all full of other strains...

Re: Braumeister or Brewtools??
You are all so bang on with what you say... these arguments for the pros and cons are exactly what's running though my mind. Ultimately I always just sit with my BM20 and see what other new products come out. The g40 looks really good. The MaltMiller reviews look very favourable indeed, however I wo...

Re: Braumeister or Brewtools??
Ive watched a few videos of the new G40 from grainfather. It looks well and very well thought through. I must admit I dont fancy the grainfather unit. Im not sure they are built so good. There always seems loads of issues as if their products are pushed out before their time - or just built to a muc...

Re: Braumeister or Brewtools??
The power isnt an issue to be honest but having to install a hoist would be. A big issue is the height required to lift. The ability to pump out like on a grainfather and BT system is great. I see theres a pump out kit for the BM but it has mixed reviews. I suppose I could pump out with an external ...
