Re: Recipe help for a first all grain brew

I know you like Brew Dog beers but it's more difficult to do a Good Clone than one might think and you don't want your first AG to disapoint.

You may be better off doing a couple of simple SMASH (single hop and single malt) brews while you get to know the process and your equipment.

Re: Stirring the mash

I find using a GF that stirring 2 or 3 times improves efficiency.

It should do, it won't be quick though.

Probably all gone, but do you have any Speidal fermentation vessels?

Re: Another reusing dry yeast question.....

Done much the same this week and it's fermenting happily :)

There are a few things to look out for :-

Reusing yeast from a very hoppy brew might not go well.
Obviously contamination.
You need to oxygenate / airate the wort I do it with all yeasts.

Re: PBW alternatives

I find 1/2 dishwasher tablet works very well in my hard water. I always rinse thoroughly afterwards.

Re: Seals for Swing Tops?

The bottles came with Free beer from Aldi and do have removable seals, I think I have one or two glued on but they were from some other shop. :) :)

Re: Seals for Swing Tops?

I'll probably go for the 50, I really trying not to have "left overs" as I've only just finished off the hops I bought before I started getting them ready weighed :). I know it's inconsistent hunting around for the cheapest deal and then buying grain and hope pre-weighed but I guess I'm just going t...

Seals for Swing Tops?

I have some that need replacing, where is the best/cheapest place to buy them?

If that isn't the best option I have a set of punches that should work with the seal material but exactly what would I need to buy? That is what thickness and what material?

Re: has the single pot killed the three pot systems

I normal sparge with cold water the only disadvantage is that it then takes longer to reach a boil.
