Re: My Brew Bot Yorkshire.

I could buy a LOT of grain for that price. I have some primitive automation a GF (old manual controller thank goodness) and a fridge controlled by a STC1000 but I look at the likes of this and wonder Why? It's not a system that might be used industrially and it's not needed by 99% of home brewers so...

Re: Braumeister Killer?

It's a nice bit of kit but will not make better beer that any other one pot system. 9kg of grain (malt pipe capacity) isn't a lot for a 40 litre kettle I can get 9kg into my GF.

Re: Cooling system

One possible solution would be to mount the top part of a electric cool box to drop the temperature.

But they're noisy and use a lot of power with respect to the amount of cooling they produce.

Re: Minibrew, Braumeister or grainfather

The GF has a small Pipework set that can be used for smaller volumes, I have one it works well. An issue to consider if your brewing weekly is temperature control for your fermenters, you will have 3 possibly 4 batches at various stages, fermenting, cold crashing, lagering and so on it could be diff...

Re: Do pH probes 'go off'?

Probes do go off, something you might try is soaking your probe in a warm solution of Biological detergent (for the washing machine). The enzymes may remove any proteins that are blocking the poures in the glass membrane.

It works sometimes.

Re: Replacing S30 valve

I have used stainless steel car tyre Schrader valves on barrels both to blow Co2 in and to check the pressure, they worked well. But I was never sure they actually were stainless, the valves I bought were sold as stainless however when one showed signs of corrosion I cut it and found Brass!! Atb. Alan

Re: Storing fermented beer in plastic containers

Possibly the best variation of the is "No Chill" (look it up) I have found it works very well for anything but the most hop forward beers and there are easy ways you can use it for them.

Re: Storing fermented beer in plastic containers

Is this beer carbonated? If so there is a problem with pressure build up if not it should work.

Plastic Barrel Users? Vol's of Co2

Now I know there is a limit to how highly carbonated a beer can be if will be stored/dispensed from a PB. For instance Lagers are usually considered too fizzy for a PB. Does anybody know exactly (ok near enough) how many volumes a beer can be carbonated to and still be stored in a PB? Atb. Aamcle
