Budget Keg conditioning
I've just transferred my Citra from the fermenter to budget plastic keg with s30 top. After a couple of days when drawing a small sample I found it had starting pressurising nicely as the beer foamed when drawn. However, after another couple of days this stopped being the case. Blasted it with a bit...

Re: No hop pellets for my festival landlord
Well it was no landlord clone anymore and for months I thought I had ruined the brew but in the end it mellowed out enough to be a drinkable gold coloured beer but it took months to stop being hazy.

Re: Bulk LME?
after a week mine still smells really good. I've just added a burst of C02 to it with my s30 cylinder coupled up to an old keg lid and blasted it down the container until I can see gas emerging back out again.

Re: Bulk LME?
Other people disagree about LME going off quickly and talk about keeping it for a year! I've just got 25kg of muntons light malt extract so I will let you know how well (or not) mine keeps.

Re: Irish Moss in a nylon hop sack

Re: No hop pellets for my festival landlord
It's a nice idea but the trouble is even if I were successful it might take a week or so for the replacement to arrive. I just stuck 50g of cascade in so it may well be a decent beer but I'm not sure it's going to be a landlord clone anymore. I will just have to buy another kit and brew it all again...

Re: No hop pellets for my festival landlord
I've got 100g of dried cascade. Could I grind it up in my coffee grinder instead of using pellets? It's the foil fresh stuff.

No hop pellets for my festival landlord
I stupidly added the hops pellet packet for my festival landlord kit to my dark mild fermenter by mistake. Now I am missing the hop pellets for my landlord which should have gone in after 5 days in primary. As far as I understand it I've only got malt in there at moment. Can anyone suggest suitable ...
